Course OverviewThe Certificate in Pre-School Teaching (CPT) prepares candidates for specific teaching skills and knowledge required in teaching and managing pre-school children. Diploma in Shipping and Transportation
Course Content :DST Stage 1 - Pre-Sea Learning Program (PLP) This will be conducted at Shelton School of Commerce Singapore for a period of 3 months. It prepares students as cadet officers aboard ship, and teaches fundamental knowledge and skills required for a deck officer at Basic Level (B).
DST Stage 2 - Shipboard Learning Program (SLP) This is where students undergo shipboard training. This structured training includes a distance learning course package at the Advanced Level (A). Students are groomed to shoulder the responsibilities of a navigating Officer.

Career and Pay ProgressionUpon completion of this course, students can proceed for a 4-month Certificate of Competency Preparatory course. With sufficient sea service and a pass in written and oral examination of the respective Administration of STET and MPA, candidates can then be awarded the internationally recognized Class 3 Certificate of Competency (Deck).
Candidates can work as officer on Board with a salary package ranging from US$1500 to US$1800. Thereupon after 18 months candidates can qualify for Class2 of Certificate of Competence and go to work as Chief Officer on Board with a salary package of US$3000 After successful completion of 18 months on Board can do Class I of Certificate of Competency and raise to the position of Ship Captain with a salary package of US$4500. Candidates can also take shore job like Superintendent, Safety Manager, Surveyor, Auditor, etc.(Salaries mentioned above are prevailing market rates, however it may vary between different Shipping Companies)
Admission Criteria· GCE “A” Levels or Equivalent with minimum aggregate of 60% in physics, Chemistry and Mathematics· With IELTS score of 5.5 & above or TOEFL of 550 and above or score 70% in Shelton’s English Placement Test· Medically fit· Pass eyesight test for sea-going career as per MPA requirement· Age 18 – 25 years
